FAQs

  • Are your properties independently inspected?
Yes. Both our apartments are inspected annually by Quality in Tourism and we are proud that they have both been awarded a 4 Star Gold rating for exceptional quality. Every year our inspector checks everything from our Gas Safety Certificates and smoke alarms down to the cleanliness of the seals on our washing machines – nothing is ignored! You can be confident that everything is professionally cleaned and maintained, so that you can relax on holiday
  • When can I check-in / check-out?
To allow us time to prepare the apartment properly, check-in is from 4 pm onwards and check-out by 10 am but if you need to arrive/leave at a different time, please contact us in advance, as we always try to be as flexible as possible.
If you need to arrive before the apartment is available and you are travelling by train, there is a secure luggage store opposite the station (our guests are entitled to a discount – ask us for details).
  • Is there parking for more than 1 car?
Parking in central Bath is difficult (the streets were built for horses and carriages, rather than for cars!) but your rental includes private parking for 1 car at each of our apartments. Extra parking is available:
  • 3 Herschel Place – we can book spaces in the local church private car park, which is only a couple of hundred metres from the apartment. Spaces must be booked in advance and paid for on arrival (charges are very reasonable and go to the church benevolent fund). There is no other long-stay parking near the apartment.
  • 4 St George’s House – there is a council-run long-stay car park near the apartment (Charlotte Street). It is not possible to pre-book but spaces are generally available.
  • Is there a fondue dish / steamer / lasagne dish in the apartment?
Both apartments are well equipped for cooking and dining (guests have even cooked a full Christmas dinner without any problem!) but if there is something in particular you would like, please just ask. If it isn’t in the apartment already, we will try to find it for you.
  • How can I make my payment?
When you book, you will be asked to make your payment through our secure online payment system. We accept payment by credit card (except American Express), debit card or PayPal. We do not make a surcharge for credit card payments. If you would like to pay by bank transfer (Sterling or Euros) or cheque, please contact us.
  • Is my payment secure?
Yes. Your connection to our payment pages is secure and all the information you provide is protected by encryption. We use SagePay to process our card payments and credit card payments made through the site will be covered by the Consumer Credit Act. Debit card payments are covered by the chargeback mechanism. PayPal offer a similar buyer protection scheme.
  • What is the ‘digicert’ logo I can see on the bookings page?
This certifies that your connection to our payment pages is secure and all the information you provide (including credit card data) is protected by encryption.
  • What is included in your prices?
Our prices are for the entire apartment (not per person) and include private parking for 1 car, breakfast for the first morning, all linens and end of stay cleaning. If you are staying for 14 nights or more, a 2 hour clean and linen change is included weekly.
  • Is a Security Deposit / Accidental Damage Waiver payable? A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £10 is payable per booking, for any length of stay. This fee insures you against accidental damage to the apartment. If you would prefer to pay a refundable security deposit (£100 payable with the balance for your booking and refunded within 7 days of departure) instead of the Accidental Damage Waiver, please contact us before booking
  • What happens if I need to cancel?
Please see our Booking Conditions. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance to cover your stay.
  • Can I bring my children?
Of course! Our apartments are designed for adults but we welcome children of all ages, together with their well-behaved parents. A travel cot and highchair are available, free of charge. Please note that our apartments sleep a maximum of 4 people in beds, plus 1 baby sleeping in a travel cot (maximum weight 13.5 kg, usually under the age of 18 months to 2 years) and that there is no specific ‘child-proofing’ in the apartments.
  • Can I bring my dog?
We're very sorry but neither of our apartments are suitable for pets and animals are not allowed under the terms of our lease.
  • Can I smoke in your apartments?
No. We're sorry but smoking is not permitted inside the apartments.
